Hyunjun Yang, or simply known to Celtic faithfuls as Yang, was born on 25 May 2002 in Korea Republic which makes him a spry 22-year-old as of now. A forward by training, Yang shows a particular prowess when played as a right winger, donning the number 13 jersey for Celtic. Standing 5ft 10in tall (1.79m) and weighing in at a lean 10st 12lb (69kg), Yang brings to the green and white stripes a notable physical presence.

The current market value of Celtic's lucrative number 13 is about €2.50m (£2m), according to figures posted on Transfermarkt. Yang has a running contract with Celtic, valuable for another three years and three months, with an expected expiry on the 31st of May 2028.

Whisked away from Korea Republic's Gangwon FC in the K League 1 in January of 2021, Yang started to etch out his career in professional football. His debut season with Gangwon received limited exposure with only nine league appearances. However, the following season saw a marked improvement in his game involvement, with Yang making 36 first team appearances and netting eight goals. The trend continued into 2023, where he made 21 appearances, contributing one goal.

The turning point in his career came in July 2023, when he made a move from Gangwon FC to Celtic in a transfer deal valued around £2.2m. His first season (2023 - 2024) with Celtic saw him take to the field in Scotland's Premiership 24 times, scoring one goal. In the current season (2024 - 2025), Yang has already made 19 appearances, scoring four goals.

Yang's feat extends beyond the Scottish league, having represented Celtic in the Champions League during the 2023 - 2024 season, making two starts and two appearances as a substitute. He was also featured in the team for the League Cup 2024 - 2025, with two substitute appearances. Additionally, Yang contributed to Celtic's Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 campaign, scoring one goal while making one start and an appearance as a substitute. His European exploits continued into the Champions League 2024 - 2025 where he had one start and five substitute appearances for Celtic.
