It is gearing up to be an important week for Celtic FC Women, with a handful of big fixtures on the horizon as we get set to enter September. Friday night football awaits the Ghirls tonight, with a return to the Albert Bartlett Stadium as they welcome Hibernian to Airdrie. With the chance to continue their impressive start to the season, which has seen the Celts win four games from four, the Edinburgh side will offer up a tough test. Having also won all of their league outings so far this campaign, both teams will be aiming to keep that one-hundred percent record heading into the game. Speaking to the press ahead of the game, Elena Sadiku insisted that her squad are excited to get back out there ahead of an important match. She said: “I’ve said it to the girls, the importance of this game is not a secret. We are going to treat this game as an important game when it comes to the league but also as preparation before playing in Lithuania next week. “So, it’s a very important game, and also, we are just so excited because these are the games that we want to play. ‘We are all very excited to play the game against Hibernian.’ “I see such potential and the talent we have. We are a great football team, and it also shows that even if we don’t think that we performed the best against Aberdeen, we still created a lot of chances. “So, it’s all about finding the balance, and that comes to different reasons. But I think we are in a good place. “We have been training really well, and I hope all the players are hungry for the next game.”Quickly following Friday evening’s game, the Hoops will then turn their attention to Round One of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Despite that being an incredibly exciting proposition for Sadiku and her squad, the focus is strictly on the task at hand this evening against Hibs. And the Celtic Head Coach believes it will be the ideal preparations, with another big three points up for grabs. “That’s the reason why we were in Sweden. We went there and spent pre-season getting prepared as possible because it’s a different type of football. “It’s a different type of opponent that we play against here. So, there was a plan behind everything that we did in pre-season. “Obviously I’m really happy that we are playing against Hibs, because they are a great team. “We know that KuPS is a great team as well. So, it’s a great opportunity for us to have this game. ‘We can’t look at Champions League right now, because I really want to focus on the Hibs game.’ “If we do well in that game, then we get confidence going into the Champions League next week.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs.
