Alistair Johnston has been longlisted for the Best FIFA Men’s XI after an impressive 2024 which saw him win the double with Celtic and help Canada finish fourth in their first ever Copa America tournament in the summer. The 26-year-old defender, who has now gained 51 caps for his country, was also selected in the Copa America Team of the Tournament, the only non-South American in the team. Having joined Celtic at the end of 2022, Johnston has now made 81 appearances for the Hoops, scoring six goals, including four this season. And earlier this month, he signed a new deal with Celtic which will see him remain at the club until 2029.
