Auston Trusty was on target in Thursday night’s 4-2 victory over FC Utrecht, a result which booked Celtic’s place in the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League. And today’s draw has pitted the Hoops against German Bundeslgia side, VfB Stuttgart, a tie that Martin O’Neill’s squad will look forward to next month. The American internationalist, who will miss this Sunday’s home game against Falkirk due to suspension following his controversial red card against Hearts at Tynecastle last weekend, gave his reaction to the UEFA Europa League draw. “We’re looking forward to playing it,” he said, “and it’s going to be challenging. They’re a good team, they’ve got a good squad, but at the end of the day it’s up to us and our ability and we decide. ‘I believe in our squad and I believe in our ability, and, again, it’s how you approach the game and how set out and actually play in the game.’ “So if we do our thing, play our way, play the Celtic way, that takes care of itself. “A lot of it is momentum. I think Celtic has had a lot of momentum going their way, and had a lot of success, and now that we’ve got some momentum going on our side, hopefully it works out for us. “It’s taking it game by game and day by day. Obviously we’ve got a game on Sunday – I’m not involved in it – but that’s the next focus.”
