To mark National Famine Commemoration Day which took place on Saturday, the Celtic Men’s first team sported the Celtic Cross logo on Trophy Day, as they wrapped up another title winning league campaign against St. Mirren in dramatic style, with a late and historic equaliser from James Forrest. As a Scottish Club established in 1887 with such proud Irish roots, Celtic will always be linked to the tragic events of the Great Hunger, over 170 years ago. The legacy of our Founding Father, Brother Walfrid, a man who was devoted to assisting those most in need within his community – many of whom had been affected by An Gorta Mór – lives on today through Celtic FC Foundation. We are delighted to confirm that a selection of match worn and match issue shirts from the game – signed by each respective player from the matchday squad – are now available to bid on via our charity eBay account HERE. Bidding will close at around 5pm on Tuesday, May 27. The shirts available are: MATCH WORN ALISTAIR JOHNSTON GREG TAYLOR NICOLAS KUHN LUKE MCCOWAN JEFFREY SCHLUPP ARNE ENGELS PAULO BERNARDO DAIZEN MAEDA MATCH ISSUE KASPER SCHMEICHEL VILJAMI SINISALO SCOTT BAIN LIAM SCALES AUSTON TRUSTY ADAM IDAH HYUNJUN YANG MAIK NAWROCKI CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS CALLUM MCGREGOR JAMES FORREST ANTHONY RALSTON Proceeds raised from the shirt auction will be devoted to supporting vulnerable children and young people through our project delivery in Ireland.
