Lifting silverware has become a familiar feeling for Cameron Carter-Vickers in green and white as he prepares for yet another Scottish Cup final this weekend at Hampden. Before moving to Paradise, the defender was making an impression south of the border, with a number of impressive loan spells. However, the one missing piece of a strong start to his football career was that illustrious first trophy, which came in his first campaign at Celtic Park in 2021. Of course, the club which he moved to Paradise from that year was Tottenham Hotspur, who on Wednesday evening lifted some silverware of their own by winning the Europa League. That Spurs team was also managed by the man who brought Carter-Vickers to Glasgow, Ange Postecoglou, who the defender briefly touched upon when asked about that success, as the media looked ahead to Saturday’s cup final. He said: “It was good to see. I obviously watched the game. It  probably wasn’t the greatest from an entertainment standpoint, but it is massive for Tottenham to get a trophy and for Ange as well. ‘He said he always wins in his second season, and he did that. So, I’m happy for him.’ “I think the majority of us enjoyed working with him and wanted the best for him. Their Premier League season maybe hasn’t been great, and that is something they will need to work on going forward. “But for them to get over the line in a cup competition is great for him and does show what he can do.” With the focus quickly switching back to Celtic and this weekend’s Scottish Cup final, the centre-back has become well accustomed to these occasions. Having won the trophy the past two seasons, the American internationalist is well aware of what it takes to taste success in the competition. And Carter-Vickers is under no illusions of the task that lies ahead against Aberdeen as he stressed the importance of sticking to the game-plan. “We know the work is far from done,” he explained. “We still have 90 minutes or possibly 120 minutes to get over the line and get another trophy. “But for us, we are fully focused on that game now. All of our energy and thought process is going into that. “It’s about going into the game, having a clear mind-set and playing the game, not necessarily the occasion. “It’s important to always have an understanding, too, that at the end of the day, whatever is on the line, it’s a football match, which we’ve all played in lots of before. ‘So it’s just about sticking to the things that we have done all season.’ “Cup games are unique in the sense that, for whatever reason, it might not always go one hundred per cent to plan. “We are expecting a difficult challenge and for Aberdeen to be right up for it. So we will have to make sure we are the same.” The feeling of winning trophies is one that will never get old for Carter-Vickers and his Celtic team-mates. So when he was asked if winning another Scottish Cup on Saturday would mark his best season at Paradise, it was tricky question for the defender to answer. With 90 minutes of football still to play, as Carter-Vickers has already stated, there is still plenty of work to be done. He said: “Different seasons are good for different reasons. Last season, we started out off in front in the league, we kind of got caught up, and then had a bit of a battle towards the end of the season. “It’s always nice to try and get those leagues over the line. ‘But if you are looking at performance wise, I think this has probably been one of the better seasons since I’ve been here.’ “We’ve had progression in Europe, and I thought we had some really good performances in that. “Then if we win the treble, that is kind of the best you can do domestically. “Once you have had success and won trophies, and you have that feeling, it is one that you don’t want to let go of. “It’s a feeling that is hard to describe, unless you’ve done it, but it’s one that once you have had it, you want to repeat it.”FixturesAberdeen Vs.
