Celtic FC Foundation is proud to continue its long-standing support of the Troon Taxi Outing, with a donation of £7,000 to help bring joy and unforgettable memories to children with additional support needs. Celtic favourite Tosh McKinlay was on hand to present a cheque on behalf of the Foundation, as hundreds of Glasgow’s black cab drivers generously gave their time and vehicles for this cherished annual event. The Troon Taxi Outing is a much-loved tradition that sees hundreds of very deserving children from across Glasgow enjoy a day of fun, laughter and excitement. The colourful convoy of decorated taxis, filled with smiling young passengers, travels in style to the seaside town of Troon, where an afternoon of entertainment, games and treats awaits. Celtic FC Foundation has proudly supported the event for over 20 years, contributing more than £200,000 in that time. This commitment reflects the Foundation’s core mission of supporting those most in need and giving back to the communities that have supported the Club for generations. Speaking of the event, Tosh McKinlay, said: “The Troon Taxi Outing is one of the most heart-warming events you’ll experience. The joy on the kids’ faces and the generosity of the taxi drivers and volunteers make it truly special. “It’s a real privilege for Celtic FC Foundation to play a part in something that brings so much happiness to so many. The Club has always stood for community, and this event is a perfect example of that in action.” Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive of Celtic FC Foundation, added: “We’re incredibly proud to once again play our part in supporting the annual trip to Troon. This special day continues to bring real joy and relief to children and families who truly deserve it. “It’s a testament to the hard work, compassion and commitment of all those involved, from organisers to volunteers, and they all deserve enormous credit. “In particular, the volunteer drivers, who so generously give their time and energy, are an inspiration. Their dedication is central to the success of this event. “Our ongoing contribution is something we value deeply, and it’s heartening to know that it has helped so many over the years. Celtic was founded to serve those in need, and initiatives like this are a living reflection of that founding purpose. We hope this year’s trip is filled with laughter, fun and lasting memories for everyone involved.”
