OPTA Supercomputer has predicted Celtic has a 57.7% chance of reaching the knockout phase. SUBSCRIBE: @PLZSoccer Opta supercomputer has predicted the entire Champions League, from the teams that will progress out of the league phase into the knockout football, all the way up until the eventual winners of the prestigious trophy. Opta uses an AI-powered software that has simulated the 2024/25 season 10,000 times, and it’s confirmed its pre-tournament predictions. Starting with the only team from Scotland, Celtic, who are in the Champions League this upcoming season, have been given a 57.7% chance to progress into the knockout stages. They’ve been given a 7.3% chance of qualifying in the top eight and a 49.9% chance of qualifying in the playoff spots but have been given a mere 0.1% chance of making it to the Champions League final. The supercomputer has also predicted which teams have the easiest fixtures in the league stage, and once again, Celtic come into the spotlight, as the computer has projected them to have the easiest average opponent difficulty. Celtic are joined by Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in this category. It also revealed the unlucky clubs who have drawn the highest caliber of opposition in the league phase, including PSG, Liverpool, and Sparta Prague. This Champions League trophy is the ultimate aim for the 36 teams participating in this year’s competition, and looking at the favorites to go all the way, Manchester City are your top contenders with a 25.3% chance of winning, despite their quarterfinal exit last season. Last year’s winners, Real Madrid, are close behind with an 18.2% chance, followed by Inter Milan.
