The tragic death of Peter Scarff in December 1933 has possibly tended to hide just what a good player he was. He joined the club from Linwood in 1928 and was freely compared as an inside forward to Jimmy McMenemy, soon becoming part of the great forward line of R Thomson, A Thomson, McGrory, Scarff
