Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths pulls out of Scotland squad to focus on Scotland
Leigh Griffiths has withdrawn from the Scotland squad for this month’s games against Israel and Portugal. The striker, who was overlooked in favour of a starting slot for Stevie Naismith against Albania, released a statement today claiming that he needed to focus on his fitness during the international break. Griffiths was named in Alex McLeish’s squad for the Home Nations game against Israel in Haifa on Thursday and the friendly against Portugal but has opted to withdraw himself...
