SWPL Sunday, February 8, 2026Petershill Park GLASGOW CITY…1 (Koslova 61) CELTIC…1 (Cross 75) Celtic FC Women took home a share of the spoils on Sunday afternoon in a 1-1 draw with Glasgow City. It was Morgan Cross’ second half strike, which levelled up the scoring, and seen both teams take away a point a piece from the match. Following the disappointment of losing out to Rangers on penalties last week, it was a return to league action for the Ghirls. Grant Scott was able to welcome new additions in the form of Evie Rabjohn and Maddi Wilde, who joined the Hoops on deadline day. The Celtic Head Coach made just the one change to his starting line-up, bringing fellow January recruit, Tara O’Hanlon, in for her first start as a Celtic player. Having lost out in the toughest way possible last weekend, the Ghirls didn’t show any signs of that effecting them, quickly trying to make their impact felt on the game. After a bright start to proceedings, Glasgow City did start to grow into the game, enjoying decent spells of possession. But it was Celtic who would create the best chance of the opening 45 minutes at Petershill. Winning possession back high up the pitch, Momo got the Hoops on the front foot quickly, breaking down the right-hand side. With the ball worked out wide, it was delivered to Poppy Pritchard, who just couldn’t hit the target with her strike on goal. Despite having good spells of the ball, the home side failed to really test Lisa Rodgers in the first half of proceedings. The one blow that Celtic did suffer was losing full-back Emma Lawton early in the match, having to be replaced just beyond the half hour mark following a head knock. That brought around an early debut for London City Lioness loanee, Maddi Wilde, who stepped into the back four. Heading into the second half, Celtic once again started brightly with Morgan Cross causing trouble down the right-hand side. The winger delivered a dangerous looking ball into the box, but it was well claimed by Lee Gibson. Once more, Poppy Pritchard was looking to threaten goal too, striking an effort from just outside the area, which was also claimed by the City shot-stopper. Despite their good start to the second half, it was the home side who would strike first, taking the lead on the hour mark. An effort on the right-hand side couldn’t be claimed by Lisa Rodgers, which gave Nicole Kozlova the chance to tap home from close range. Having suffered another set-back, the Celts didn’t accept defeat and quickly bounced back to level up the scoring. After finding space at the back post, Maria McAneny delivered a superb low delivery, which was turned home by Cross inside the six-yard box. That goal seemed to breed even more life into Celtic, who quickly went up the park looking for another. And the Ghirls were ultimately unlucky not to come away with a winner as Claire Walsh seen a headed effort come off the crossbar. Ultimately, it was a share of the spoils for both teams as the Hoops took home a point at Petershill Park. That result leaves everything tight at the top, with Celtic still just five points off top spot in the SPWPL. Next up, is a brief break from league action for the Celts as Grant Scott’s side travel to the Oriam to take on Hearts next Sunday in the Scottish Cup.FixturesGlasgow City Women Vs.
