Scotland is preparing for the visit of Oasis over the coming days, as the Manchester music icons get set to take to the stage at a sold-out Murrayfield on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday. The legendary group have already hit the headlines for their gigs in Cardiff, Manchester and London on their tour so far, with Edinburgh the next city set to be taken over by the sound of the Gallagher brothers and their catalogue of timeless hits. Ahead of the start of bandâs tour, the Celtic View spoke to Brian Cannon, the man who designed Oasisâ original logo and all of their album artwork through the bandâs halcyon days in the 1990s. Cannon, the bandâs graphic designer, was, in Noel Gallagherâs words, âthe sixth memberâ of Oasis, and speaking to the Celtic View, the logo designer reflected on the bandâs rapid rise to fame and the significance of their recent reunion. He said: âThat early to mid-90s version of Oasis was just beyond belief brilliant. They deserved all the accolades and success that they got. âThey knew that, so they couldnât care less whether some music reporter or journalist didnât like them. The whole creative process was controlled by them.âI didnât know anything about the reunion until it was announced. Noel told me that only eight people in the world knew about it. “The response has been amazing. Anything that makes so many people so happy has got to be a good thing. âThereâs never been anything like it before and thereâll never be anything like it again. âThereâs nothing to compare it to because thereâs never been a band of this magnitude who have done this.â You can read Brian Cannonâs full interview in the brand new Celtic View, which is out now. ORDER THE CELTIC VIEW There are plenty of other exclusive music interviews, including chats with Brooke Combe, Mani from The Stone Roses and Stuart Brathwaite from the band, Mogwai.
