It might be a brand-new season, however, it was a familiar route which sealed all three points for Celtic FC Women on Sunday afternoon. Having made over 300 appearances, and scored over 100 goals in Green and White, Chloe Craig has scored many an important goal for the Hoops. And the defender was on hand to do so once more, as her second half penalty secured a 1-0 win on Sunday against Glasgow City. Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, the centre-back was pleased to have played her part in another important win for the Celts. Given the quality of opposition and with it being the early stage of the campaign, Craig believes it was an important win for the Ghirls to see through. She said: “It’s always good to get the three points, especially against a team like Glasgow City. We know that they are going to be hard to play against. ‘But we continued to work hard and fought through to get the three points. So, we are glad to get that over the line.’ “Like I said, we know it’s always going to be hard Glasgow City, but especially with it being just the second game of the season. “Our focus is always on us though, and that is something we want to continue.”With another match quickly on the horizon, Elena Sadiku’s side will have to turn their focus to Wednesday evening as they welcome Motherwell to Airdrie. Although it is a quick turnaround for their next outing, Craig insists the squad will work hard to continue improving at the start of the season, with focus remaining on their own game. “We head on to Wednesday night now, and it will be the exact same focus for us,” she said. “We’ll go back into training and get our heads down. ‘We’ll always take it one game at a time, and we’re looking forward to Motherwell on Wednesday now.’ “We know that we could have been better today, so we will focus on improving and we’ll do that in the next game.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs.
