Elena Sadiku’s side welcome Motherwell for this Sunday’s game at New Douglas Park as the Celts return to SWPL duty following last weekend’s Sky Sports Cup card. The Ghirls travelled to Edinburgh and recorded a 3-1 win over Spartans at Ainslie Park and have been hard at work this week preparing for the challenge of Motherwell. The Head Coach said of this week’s sessions at Barrowfield: “It’s actually been really good. I really like the reactions from the players. We’ve taken on some things from the last game against Spartans. “We got the job done, but we want more, the standards need to be higher, the quality needs to be higher, especially because we have such a high-quality team. ‘I have players that are hungry to win trophies and want to be the best version of themselves.’ “And that strive and that mentality of trying to become better every single day has been shown in training and I’m really happy with that.” She added: “The reaction has been really good in terms of pushing and making sure that we are not off the ball. “We know that all the teams we are facing are going to give us different challenges because of who we are, what we stand for, we’re Celtic. “All the teams want to make sure that we don’t get any points, and we know that is something that we need to make sure we take advantage of, in keeping us on the front foot all the time. “Making sure that we can’t relax, making sure that we always take steps every week, and that’s exactly what I’ve seen this week, so I’m really happy with that.”While Celtic were beating Spartans in the capital, this Sunday’s opponents were also in Edinburgh on cup duty, but lost 9-0 to Hibernian at Meadowbank. Elena Sadiku said of the expected reaction form Motherwell: “In terms of losing 9-0 against Hibs, we probably expect them to come after us and be really intense for the first 10 or 15 minutes. “But, at the same time, we know how to play with intensity, we do it in every single session, we know how to deal with it. “We also need to focus on ourselves. I really want us to control the game, I don’t want to turn it into a transitional game. It just needs to be us being switched on because when we play with our intensity. “With our pace, we break the lines and if we do our combinations and play out in the wide areas and get crosses in, then we are so dangerous. “We’ve seen it in the goal difference already. We know how to score goals and, for me, it’s going to be really important, especially after Spartans, that we don’t concede any. “I really want us to be switched on and focused on ourselves because when we do that we make a great performance and it’s going to be hard for any team to play against us.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs.
