It was another successful afternoon for Elena Sadiku and her Celtic FC Women’s squad on Sunday as they ran out 7-0 winners over Partick Thistle. With three goals in the first half, and four in the second, it was a strong all-round performance from the Ghirls on a sunny day at Petershill Park. Making the short trip to face the Jags, Petershill has proved a tricky venue in the past. However, from the outset, it was clear the Hoops were in the mood as they fought to seal all three points. Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Elena Sadiku expressed her delight having watch on from the sideline as her side put in an impressive performance. With slight tactical tweaks taking place through the game, the Celtic Head Coach was particularly pleased with how her squad has taken on information from training and deployed that in the opening games of the season. She said: “I’m very pleased with many things regarding our performance. How we attack, how well we defend to make sure they don’t create any chances. “Every time we lost the ball, we were trying to win the ball back. But I’m also very proud with how we make changes, and the girls were spot on in knowing exactly what to do. “I’m really, really pleased with that and obviously scoring seven goals against Partick Thistle away is very pleasing to see. ‘We’re seeing that we are making progress every week.’ “We also showed that we aren’t just happy with that. We want to keep going, we want to create more and play our style of play. “So, I’m very happy that the players go out there in the second half and show that they want even more. “We play on everybody’s strengths. Everyone knows what to do, even if they do change position. “The players have been taking on things and they are executing that really well too.”The games keep on coming for the Ghirls, and next week it is a big one as Sadiku and her squad prepare for their first match up against Rangers. With the Hoops currently sitting top spot three games into the campaign, confidence is high and that is something the Swede believes you can see in the performances. The 31-year-old is now looking forward to another week of preparation as the Hoops get set to welcome Rangers to New Douglas Park next Sunday. “I think you can see that the confidence is just building,” she said. “The style of play, and how we want to play is also progressing. “It feels like the relationships between the players are just getting stronger. They know exactly what to expect from each other. ‘I said to the players after the game, I’m so proud that the team is looking so strong and we just want to get better all the time.’ “We are just focused on the tasks that are ahead. We are making sure that everybody is in the journey. Everybody wants to be a part of the journey. “We are all supporting each other, and that is the best feeling that you can have as a coach, seeing that every week.”FixturesPartick Thistle Women Vs.
