Celtic face another Glasgow derby this weekend when they play host to Rangers at New Douglas Park on Sunday (KO: 4.10pm). And Elena Sadiku’s side will be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing defeat last weekend against Glasgow City, a result which effectively ended any hopes the Hoops had of retaining the league title. There are three games remaining in this SWPL season – Rangers on Sunday, followed by a midweek away game against Hibernian before the last game of the season, when Motherwell visit Celtic Park on May 18. And the Celtic Head Coach is looking for her team to sign off the campaign with three positive results, starting with a victory over Rangers on Sunday. Speaking ahead of the game, Elena Sadiku said: “It’s a Glasgow derby and it’s a game that we absolutely don’t want to lose. ‘All the games this season have been very competitive and it’s been the details which have mattered, and that’s what we need to try to bring to the game on Sunday.’ We haven’t won against Rangers this season and that is the main message – it’s a Glasgow derby and we haven’t won against them, and that is the main goal we’ll have, and that hunger needs to be the very best we can have to make sure we get three points. “In terms of the games we have left, it’s a derby on Sunday and that won’t change. “Then we have Hibs on Wednesday, and we know what they did against us on the last day of last season when they worked really hard to try and make sure we didn’t win the league. “After that, we have Motherwell at Celtic Park, so we still have nine points to play for and that’s the biggest focus we have right now.”One player aiming to play her part in these three remaining fixtures is Emma Lawton, who has enjoyed an impressive first season with the Hoops since joining from Partick Thistle back in September. The Celtic defender also picked up the PFA Player of the Year Award last weekend, a recognition from her fellow SWPL players of her performances throughout the campaign. And Elena Sadiku, who brought her to Celtic, is delighted at the award for the player. “Emma deserves it so much for the person she is and the work that she puts into her work in terms of mindset, quality,” the Celtic Head Coach said. “She always wants to strive to be the best she can be, so I’m very happy and proud of her, and I think that after this season she needs to have a little bit of a cool-down to understand what a season she’s had. “It has been a big season for her, and then with the other awards we had with Celtic, it was nice to see many of our new players get recognised for the contribution they’ve had for this season.”Upcoming FixturesCeltic Women Vs.
