This Sunday marks a return to action for Celtic FC Women as they get set for another away day. Making the trip up north, it is Montrose who lie in wait as Elena Sadiku’s side eye up three points on their travels. After being held to a 1-1 draw last weekend against Hibernian, the Ghirls will be looking to get back to winning ways once more. Assessing last Sunday’s display, Sadiku insisted there were aspects that the squad were disappointed in. However, there were still positives to take away. Having put the work in on the training pitch during the week, the Celtic Head Coach is looking forward to seeing her side back in action this weekend. She said: “We were a bit disappointed that we didn’t do the things that we are good at. In the first half we got control and played a little bit more in the opposition’s half. “In the second half, we broke the lines really well at times. But when we broke the lines, we maybe forced it a little and then it was a transitional game. ‘We want to play forward; we want to create chances and get at the opposition.’ “It’s been different when it comes to preparing for every game with us having time on the training pitch. “We are looking to improve all the time. Every week, we always take steps. We are not going to be perfect sometimes. “But as long as we move forward, we are one step closer to what we want to do this season.”With Montrose being this Sunday’s opponents, it is the first time the two sides will meet this campaign. The Celts met the Links Park side on three occasions last season, winning all three in the league and cup fixtures. Sadiku is expecting a test from Montrose, but is insisting that her players are simply focused on themselves and what they are capable of as a team. “Montrose are a decent team. They have recruited good players, and they have strengths within their team that we are aware of. ‘But at the same time, we need to focus on ourselves. We know that we can attack, create chances and score goals.’ “That is what I want to see in terms of attacking wise. We want to control the game, and every time we lose it, we are going to be ready to press and win the ball back! “Obviously, the rest defence needs to be good because that is something that they want to do, with transitions. “But we are going to be ready and switched on for Sunday.”FixturesMontrose Women Vs.
