Matchday four in the SWPL is approaching for Celtic FC Women, and it is set to be a big one with the first Glasgow derby of the season on the horizon. The Ghirls will welcome Rangers to New Douglas Park this Sunday (KO: 3.05pm), with both teams going into the match unbeaten. Having made it three wins from three with a 7-0 victory over Partick Thistle last weekend, the Celts go into the match full of confidence. Speaking to the media ahead of the match, Elena Sadiku praised the levels her squad have been producing in training and also admitted she was delighted with the togetherness within her squad. She said: “I think you can see the quality in training. After every game, we talk about what we have done well and what can we learn or do better. “Obviously, when we talk about those things, we want to apply that in training to make sure that we actually work with the things we want to do better, but also doing the things that we do well and keep doing that at training. ‘Our session yesterday and again today have been really, really good – high quality, high intensity.’ “I’m really happy with the last few weeks, and I’m really happy with the progress because it is getting even better in training and the quality is getting better. “I think you can see in every player that we have recruited, they want to play for Celtic. That is exactly what we want. “We want players who want to play for the badge. The reason why there is a strong togetherness is because I work with wonderful people, both players and staff. “I’m really happy to be a part of this togetherness with the group of people I work with every single day.“Although this Glasgow derby is coming early in the season, as always, there is still a lot at stake. But Elena Sadiku exxplained that the squad are focused solely on themselves and what they can do heading into the game. “All the games that are coming ahead are going to be very important,” she said. “Obviously, it is a Glasgow derby so we know what it means for everyone. “What I have said to the players is there’s a reason why we’ve had a good start and these are the things we need to focus on. ‘That is exactly what we need to do on Sunday as well. There are obviously more feelings going into a Glasgow derby.’ “I just think we need to make sure that we let the emotions take over. We need to focus on our task and make sure we get the right performance and a good result.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs. Rangers Women – Sun, Sep 7th 2025, 15:05
