Europa League roundup: Iheanacho feels handball pain as Celtic lose to Braga

Iheanacho appeared to have brought the hosts level in the 51st minute after Kasper Schmeichel made a mess of dealing with Ricardo Horta’s long-range strike in the first half. But the German referee Tobias Stieler disallowed the goal and video assistant Christian Dingert stuck with the decision, despite no handball being evident on television replays.Iheanacho capitalised on a loose pass from a free-kick to charge down a scrambled clearance from former Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke before slotting home. The ball appeared to hit the striker’s face and there was no hint of handball in the replays that followed. But Dingert stuck with the decision after more than two minutes of studying the footage.
