Exclusive Celtic TV Interview: Aislin Streicek

Season 2025/26 has got off to the perfect start for Celtic FC Women, with Elena Sadiku’s side kicking off the league campaign with three straight victories, scoring 14 goals and conceding only one. As well as their positive start to the season, the Ghirls have also welcomed a few new faces to the squad, including Canadian full-back Aislin Streicek who joined the Hoops on a two-year deal from US NCAA Division One side, Boston College. Streicek made her debut for Celtic against Hearts on the opening day of the SWPL campaign as the Celts secured a 2-1 victory at the Oriam Performance Centre. Speaking to Celtic TV for the first time since joining the club, Streicek said that after speaking with the manager, she knew that making the move to Celtic was the right one for her. She said: “The girls have been super-welcoming and the coaching staff as well, so I’m really excited to be here. “Everyone is motivated for this season and training has been very competitive, so it’s great to be in an environment like that. “Elena and David came to me with a lot of energy, and they were motivated to have me. That made me excited as a player. ‘For them to show their enthusiasm and what they want to do here, that really sold me.’ “As a player you want a coach who wants to win but wants to play the right way as a team. “I think the way she approached our meeting, it made me really excited as a player and I wanted to play for her and the team and this club.”For the Canadian defender, her move to Celtic sees her also fulfil a personal ambition, as she continues her family’s link to the club, as she explained in her Celtic TV interview. “My cousin, Charlie Mulgrew played here.” she said. “His son actually plays for the under-19s so it’s funny seeing him around. “I grew up watching Charlie play, and he was a massive inspiration to me. “Now that I’m here and around that, it’s good to have that family around and it makes it better in terms of settling in. “They’ve been helping me a lot with the transition and they’re really excited to have me here, so it’s good to have that support.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs.
