Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish CupSunday, February 15, 2026The Oriam HEARTS…3 (Jardine 37, Timms 77, Hutchison 120) CELTIC…4 (Cross 24, O.G 45+2, Luke 97, Lawton 105) After extra-time Celtic FC Women booked their place at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon, seeing off Hearts after extra time. After leading for much of the match, the Hoops were pegged back by a late Hearts goal, which sent the game into a further thirty minutes. But goals in the first half of extra time from Hannah Luke and Emma Lawton ultimately sealed the victory for the Ghirls. Following last weekend’s draw with Glasgow City, Grant Scott made two changes to his starting 11 in the capital. In came both Hannah Luke and Emma Westin, who took the places of Tara O’Hanlon and Maria McAneny in the side. It was an even start to affairs between the side’s at the Oriam, with the Hoops looking to get a foot hold on proceedings. The Ghirls had a series of early set pieces, with Hannah Luke sending dangerous deliveries into the box, which were well met by the Hearts goalkeeper. Neither side really tested either goalkeeper with shots in those opening stages. However, the Hoops didn’t have to wait to long for that to change. On 24 minutes, Morgan Cross was on hand to score at the Oriam for the second consecutive time. The winger produced another smart finish, after latching on to a clever ball over the top of the Hearts defence by Momo, finding the bottom corner. After grabbing the opener in the game, the Celts looked to push forward and grab another as Poppy Pritchard showed good endeavour to get a shot off. Having found some space inside the area, the on-loan Manchester City striker stung the palms of the Hearts goalkeeper. However, almost immediately from that chance, the home side went up the other end of the pitch and grabbed an equaliser. A strike from range by Kayla Jardine gave Lisa Rodgers no chance, with the powerful effort finding the far top corner. With the game heading towards the break, the Hoops did manage to find the lead once again though. Following some really positive play by Emma Westin, the Swedish winger was rewarded for her hard work, seeing a cross deflect into the back of the net off a Hearts defender. The goal gave Celtic the advantage at half-time, in a game which both teams were looking to grab a hold of. It was Celtic who were pushing at the start of the second half too as they looked to extend that advantage further. After her involvement in the second goal, Westin came close to grabbing her first goal in green and white but was denied by the Hearts goalkeeper. Unfortunately for Celtic, with the game heading towards the closing stages, that first-half goal wouldn’t be the final one in the game. Georgia Timms found the net with just over ten minutes remaining, with her massively deflected effort flying into the back of the Celtic net. Just a few weeks on from another cup tie that went the entire way, the Ghirls were heading to extra-time once more. But on this occasion, it got off to a much better start, with the Hoops grabbing two quick-fire goals in the first-half. First up was Hannah Luke, who made a great run to the back post and was found expertly by Evie Rabjohn to put Celtic back in front. And just before the break, Emma Lawton was on hand to all but seal the victory for Celtic, turning home Morgan Cross’ delivery into the box. There would be one more goal in the game, with Hearts pulling one back in the final minute of extra-time. But that would be the final action of the match, with the Ghirls coming out on top against the Edinburgh side. That victory books the Hoops’ place in the last four, and means it will be a place at Hampden in the semi-finals for Grant Scott’s side.
