Grant Scott: There has been great energy in training ahead of Hearts

Following a quick return to league action last weekend for Celtic FC Women, they find themselves on cup duties once more this Sunday. On this occasion, the Scottish Cup quarter-final awaits as the Ghirls travel to the capital to face off against Hearts. The Hoops come into this one off the back of a 1-1 draw with Glasgow City, which seen Grant Scott’s side fight back from a goal down to take home a point. Speaking ahead of Sunday’s trip to Edinburgh, Scott reflected on his side’s performance as they build towards their next matchday. The Celtic boss also insisted the work put in on the training ground this week has been very positive from his squad, giving him the hard task when it comes to picking the starting 11. He said: “It was a good performance, but not brilliant. We’ve managed to not lose any ground in the league obviously. “We have competed for 90 minutes against a very good side. So, it’s progress, and we’re looking to improve further.” “It’s been a very good week of training,” Scott continued. ‘The players look hungry, and they have applied themselves really well this week.’ “There is a real energy and real intensity about their work. So, it’s going to be a tough job picking a time for this weekend.”Hearts are of course, Sunday’s opposition, which will be the Hoops’ third match this month against one of the top four side’s in the league. And it will be two quick-fire meetings between the teams too, with the Hoops first facing off against the Jambos this weekend, before once again meeting the Edinburgh side in the league next Sunday. As Scott previewed what sort of threat he expects from this weekend’s Scottish Cup opponents, he insisted it is just one game at a time that his squad will focus on, with a place in the last four up for grabs. “They are a very fluid side,” he said. “The fluidity in their movement certainly catches you out occasionally, if you let them have the ball too much. “They are very focused on their possession and having time to make those rotations. So, they are very organised. “Their league position tells you no lies. They are a very good side and scoring a lot of goals. ‘So, we’ll have to be on our game on the day. But it’s another big game, which we are looking forward too.’ “It’s been a long time since we faced Hearts. But it’s all about one game at a time and we’re just focused on Sunday.”FixturesHearts Women Vs. Celtic FC Women – Sun, Feb 15th 2026, 15:00
