Grant Scott: We are in a good spot heading into Montrose game

This Sunday will see Celtic FC Women return to New Douglas Park for their first home match of 2026. It has been a strong start to the year for the Ghirls, who have won their opening two games on the road against Hibernian and Motherwell. And they will be looking to build on those results as they take on Montrose in Hamilton on Sunday. It will, of course, also mark the first time that Grant Scott takes to the home dugout as Celtic manager after two away fixtures to kick start his tenure. Ahead of welcoming Montrose, Scott spoke to Celtic TV to look ahead to the match, and how much he is looking forward to seeing the fans at home for the first time. He said: “We’re in a good spot. We’ve enjoyed the first couple of games so far with the team, and week-by-week, we are seeing an increase with the intensity in our work. ‘It will be a tough opponent, and tough match to play.’ “But it will be good for us to be back at home and see if we can put in a really good performance. “We’re still managing a couple of players back from injury, but in the main, the intensity of the girls’ work has been excellent. “We’re just continuing to drip feed pieces of information for them. Just smalls bit of potential styles of play we want them to play. “But the girls have been really receptive. They are looking good on the pitch in training, and I’m just looking forward to seeing them on the matchday pitch again. “I’m looking forward to it. Like I said a few weeks back, we are one of the best supported women’s teams in the league. ‘Hopefully we can get a good backing and support for the game against Montrose.’ “It will be our first home match of the year on Sunday, and I’m looking forward to being there.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs.
