Great success as Celtic FC Foundation return to Dublin

Last night (Thursday), Celtic FC Foundation – supported by Celtic Football Club – hosted their second Dublin Gala Dinner, as they returned to the stunning surroundings of The Round Room at the Mansion House, for ‘An Evening with Sir Kenny Dalglish’. Around 260 guests – including members from a host of Celtic Supporters’ Clubs across the country – were in attendance for a night to remember, with vital funds being raised in support of the Foundation’s project delivery in Ireland. Sponsored by Avolon, USAVE Power and The Muldoon Family, the evening was hosted by Darragh Maloney and included a video message from Celtic manager, Martin O’Neill, as he wished guests, and the Foundation, well for the evening ahead.   There was incredible live entertainment from the iconic Dublin Legends and from our very own Liam McGrandles. Just before the Live Auction, which was hosted by Ricky Wilson and Jason Delaney of Wilson’s Auctions, we heard from Celtic FC Foundation project participant Gareth, who shared his very personal and inspirational story. Gareth, who takes part in our Dads and Lads project in Derry, spoke of the importance of the help that he’s received. Darragh then led a fantastic Q&A with our special guest, Sir Kenny Dalglish, who shared stories and highlights of his time with Celtic and also Liverpool. Before, departing the stage, Sir Kenny helped draw the winning ticket for our special prize draw, which offered the chance to win a matchday hospitality package for 10, courtesy of club sponsor, Dafabet. Proceeds raised through the Dublin Gala Dinner will support our project delivery across Ireland, through initiatives such as Ability Counts, Community Games, Positive Futures, Dads and Lads, Fitness for Fun and Paradise Pit Stop in the Community. Speaking of the Gala, Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: “It’s been another magnificent evening for Celtic FC Foundation here in Dublin. “We would like to thank our sponsors – Avolon, USAVE Power and The Muldoon Family – for their incredible continued backing and also each and every table holder or individual in attendance, including those from a host of Celtic Supporters’ Clubs. “Thanks too to all of those who’ve helped contribute to the event, including Celtic Football Club, Martin O’Neill, Darragh Maloney, Ricky and Jason from Wilson’s Auctions, the Dublin Legends and Liam McGrandles. And to everyone who bid on, or donated prizes for our Live and Silent Auctions, as well as those who entered the Prize Draw, kindly supported by Dafabet.” Celtic FC Chief Executive, Michael Nicholson, added: “It has been another evening to remember but, more importantly, the Foundation has been able to raise vital funds, which will directly impact children, young people and adults across Ireland, through a wide range of project delivery here. “We’re very grateful to everyone who turned out to support the event including CSCs from across Ireland. We are extremely grateful to Sir Kenny Dalglish, who is such a fabulous supporter of our efforts.” To register for details on future dinner events in Ireland, please email [email protected] Thank you so much for your wonderful support.
