The champions continued their journey through the busy festive fixture schedule with a brilliant 4-0 victory over Motherwell at Celtic Park this afternoon. The Hoops were the dominant team throughout the match, with the second-half performance from Brendan Rodgers’ men proving too much for the visitors from North Lanarkshire to keep up with. And speaking to Celtic TV after the match, the Celts’ boss reflected on today’s match as he praised his side for their second half display and the Celtic support for their backing throughout the match. “You always have to respect the other team, especially when they’re fresh in the game,” he said. “But the second half was much better. “We upped the tempo, played faster, were more aggressive in our passing and carved out some really good chances. ‘We kept going to the very end, so I’m really pleased with the result and the performance in the second half.’ “I also thought we needed the crowd today, and they were fantastic. To get those numbers on Boxing Day, having not been here for so long, they’re really important for us. “Especially in this period where we have so many games, just to keep that encouragement going, keep that positivity and they get rewarded with a nice 4-0 victory.” Watch Brendan Rodgers’ full Celtic TV interview below.FixturesCeltic Vs.
