On 25 May 1967, Celtic Football Club defeated Inter Milan 2-1 at the EstĂĄdio de Honra (EstĂĄdio Nacional) in Lisbon to become the first British football team to lift the European Cup. I visited the exact site at which Billy McNeill lifted footballâs biggest prize. Thereâs a plaque at the stadium to this day to commemorate the Lisbon Lions who were lead by Jock Stein and had stars like Stevie Chalmers, Bertie Auld & Jimmy Jinky Johnstone...
