Following the success of our inaugural Arctic Trek in January of 2023, Celtic FC Foundation are delighted to confirm that we’ll be returning for a second Arctic Adventure in 2027, from Wednesday, January 13 to Monday, January 18. This gruelling challenge will involve a three-day trek in the Arctic Circle, totalling 65km. Participants will travel to Rovaniemi in Finland where, prior to setting off on the trek, there will be an opportunity to enjoy some free time, with the option to visit Lapland. The adventure then begins the following day with a 28km trek, as the group will follow a frozen river and gentle hills, before setting up camp in the Arctic wilderness, with a chance to take in the famous Northern Lights. The following day will entail another 22km, as the group trek deeper into snowy terrain, entering forested sections before settling for another night under the stars. And the third day’s trekking will see participants complete the final 15km of the challenge, before enjoying a celebratory event that evening. The cost of the trip is £2,750 per person and this includes a non-refundable deposit of £350 which is required to confirm your place. There is also a minimum fundraising requirement of £1,800, as a charitable contribution to Celtic FC Foundation in support of our work challenging poverty and promoting inclusion. The package includes: Pre-trek information sessions, covering intro to the trek, kit and training and trail conditions and safety. Return flights from Edinburgh, departing on Wednesday, January 13 and returning on Monday, January 18, 2027. Transfers within Finland. Hotel accommodation on a shared basis on days 1, 2 and 5. Tent accommodation on a shared basis for days 3 and 4. Provision of pulks, harnesses and snowshoes (participants must provide or rent all other required equipment but a comprehensive kit list will be provided). All meals from dinner on day 1 through to breakfast on day 6. Breaking Strain Challenge Leader throughout the duration of the Trek. A celebration after completion of the trek. Following payment of the £350 deposit, the balance of £2,400 can be paid in three separate instalments, with the final payment being due on Friday, September 25, 2026. The minimum fundraising amount of £1,800 must be raised by Friday, January 8, 2027. Places on Celtic’s Arctic Adventure 2027 are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. To register your interest and receive a registration pack, please email us at [email protected] or call 0141 551 4321. Thank you for your wonderful support.
