The addition of Evie Rabjohn wasn’t Grant Scott’s final piece of business in the window, with the Celtic boss also adding Maddi Wilde before the deadline. The young defender became the Hoops’ fourth signing of the winter window, joining on loan for the remainder of the season from English side, London City Lionesses. Wilde, who can play as both at right-back and centre-back, adds further reinforcement to the Celtic backline. Speaking in her first interview since completing the move to Glasgow, Wilde insisted she can’t wait to get started. She said: “I’m buzzing and really excited to be here! It’s such a massive club with so much history about it. So I’m really excited to get started. “The club got in contact with me, and I had a little call with Grant. He spoke to me about the club and the ambition. ‘So, it was a no-brainer really.’ “I’m looking forward to working under Grant. He spoke to me about his philosophy and his way of playing. “So it was everything that I can also contribute too. I’m really excited.”At 22-years-old, Wilde arrives at Celtic with experience south of the border, most recently with newly promoted WSL side, London City Lionesses. Having also spent time at Bristol City, the defender has been part of squads that have won the second tier in England on two occasions. During her time as a youngster, Wilde has had the opportunity to play with a number of top players in England and has learned a lot from that experience. Now she is looking to put that into practice as a Celtic player after meeting her team-mates and starting to get settled as part of the group. “I started my professional career at Bristol City,” she said. “I moved from there to London City Lionesses, at first on loan. “But I made the permanent move there too. I’ve played with some great players, which hopefully now I will get to showcase what I have learned from them, and use that experience to take on board here. “I’ve played with Champions League and World Cup winners. For me, I just want to use everything that they’ve taught me. ‘Whether it be training or games. All of their experience, which I’ve spoken to them about, I want to take into this now.’ “To get back playing will be great. I had a little injury over the summer, but now you just miss that feeling of playing. “So, with being in a good group of girls and the right set up, it gives you the chance to perform.”FixturesGlasgow City Women Vs.
