Brendan Rodgers believes he has the squad to win away from home in the UEFA Champions League. With eight points from their first five matches in the competition, Celtic are in Croatia to take on Dinamo Zagreb tomorrow night (Tuesday), and the Celtic manager is confident he has the squad to get a positive result. Speaking ahead of the game, the Hoops boss said: “We’re a very ambitious team and we go into every game to win it. “We respect the opponent, but we arrive here with confidence and we know we have to put the work in. “Every team has big talents and Croatia has always produced good technical players, but we’ve shown we can be really competitive in all aspects so were looking forward to the challenge.”Celtic go into the match on the back of a 3-0 weekend win over Hibernian, a result which has put the Hoops nine points clear at the top of the Premiership table. Now the focus is on European football, and Brendan Rodgers is delighted to have a strong squad to pick from tomorrow night. “You can see from how I’ve been rotating the team that I have a real trust in our squad,” he explained. “The last time we played Saturday-Tuesday we played Leipzig and we were brilliant that evening. ‘We have a squad that I feel I can pick any team and the quality is there, the structure is there, and likewise, if we need to make changes I know I can bring players in and keep the intensity and the quality.’ Dinamo Zagreb go into the game against Celtic, having only won one of their last seven home matches, although they have picked up seven points from their five UEFA Champions League fixtures. And Brendan Rodgers knows that statistic is enough to confirm that the Croatian side will be very tough opponents on Tuesday night. “If you can pick up seven points in the Champions League you are a really good side,” he explained. “At this level, no matter what teams may do in their league format, you know the Champions League gives teams an extra motivation. So we are prepared for a really difficult game but we want to make it difficult for them also.”Upcoming FixturesDinamo Zagreb Vs. Celtic – Sun, Dec 12th 2024, 15:30
