Maria McAneny: It is always good to have the backing of the home fans

It is another home outing in the split for Celtic FC Women, who welcome Glasgow City to New Douglas Park on Wednesday evening. The Ghirls kicked-off the post-split with a 1-1 draw against Hibernian, and are back at home once more. This time, they take on current league leaders Glasgow City as their busy schedule continues. Speaking ahead of the match, Maria McAneny is hopeful that the home crowd can play their part as the Hoops eye up three points. She said: “Glasgow City is always a tough game. We know they’ve got such good quality and individual talent. “So, we know it’s going to be a tough game. If we can do everything within our game plan, and how we want to play, we will give ourselves the best chance. ‘It’s always good to have the backing of the home fans.’ “We know the fans will be there and cheering us on.
