Martin O’Neill had his first media conference at Lennoxtown today (Tuesday) following his return to Celtic as manager until the end of the season. And having also enjoyed a training session with the players this morning, the Irishman is focused on helping to get the team back to winning ways. The first opportunity to do that comes this Saturday when Celtic play host to Dundee United (KO: 3pm), and it’s a game that he and his squad are looking forward to. “If ever you needed proof of anything, we’re in the results business and you have to win some football matches,” he said. “I’ve known that myself in the course of my career. “In one aspect, it’s really nice to be back, but in other ones I genuinely do feel for a manager who’s had little time to get his feet under the table and put his plans across. But it happens and I’m here now, so I will do my best.” The Celtic manager also spoke about his hopes for the January transfer window, while also reflecting on the next few months and the fight to retain the Premiership title. And on the connection that he enjoyed with the Celtic played during his previous spell in charge earlier this season, Martin O’Neill added: “We know it’s winning and that connection is fine when you’re winning. When you’re not winning football matches, that becomes a problem. “It’s the same in any dressing-room. The players are the most important people because they do the winning of football matches.” Watch the manager’s full press conference Returning to Celtic January transfer window Daizen Maeda’s future Aims for the season Title fight Squad’s injury update Upcoming FixturesCeltic Vs.
