And only a last-gasp equaliser from the German side prevented the UEFA Champions League play-off tie from going into extra-time after Celtic had led on the night thanks to a Nicolas Kuhn goal. It was a heartbreaking way to exit the competition, but Brendan Rodgers’ side showed yet again that they can compete against the best teams in Europe on this prestigious stage.
