The Celts’ impeccable domestic form continued in brilliant style at Celtic Park today, as the champions cruised past Ross County with five first-half goals securing another three points. Brendan Rodgers had made six changes to his starting XI after Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw with Club Brugge, and he was rewarded for that decision, with four of Celtic’s goals coming from players who didn’t start in the midweek. Amongst those was Luke McCowan, who not only got his name on the scoresheet but also provided three assists, as he helped the Hoops to victory on a memorable day at Paradise. And speaking to Celtic TV alongside Callum McGregor after the match, McCowan said that he is enjoying learning from his captain and his focus is on always being ready to snap in to action when needed. “You can’t have a petted lip when you’re not playing in this team,” he said. “You’ve got to be ready to come on. “The squad is full of quality and there’s so many games across the season that you just have to be ready to be ready when called upon. “I just always want to learn. I think I’m asking Callum 20 million questions a day on how to play positions or whatever! “I’m always willing to learn and don’t want to drop the standards or levels, you just want to keep them going.“Hoops skipper Callum McGregor, who scored yet another goal of the season contender today, echoed McCowan’s sentiments on the quality of the Celts’ squad as he praised the team for today’s emphatic victory. He added: “The performance was outstanding, especially after a tough game midweek. “The idea was to try and get the speed, tempo and quality on the ball from the off and the boys done that. “The guys who have been coming in to games have made a huge impact for us and the squad is so important. “We need every single player at their maximum level and that’s why we’ve been so good. “We made a few changes today and the level is still super-high, brilliant energy, brilliant quality, summed up by the wee man (McCowan), he gets his goal and a few assists as well. “But that’s what we want, everybody to come in and work as hard as they can for the team and produce those moments. We’re all in it together.”FixturesCeltic Vs. Ross County – Sat, Nov 30th 2024, 15:00
