Official Celtic FC Podcast: Jimmy Johnstone 20th anniversary special

This is the Official Celtic FC Podcast and, on this episode, you can listen to an archive interview with Celtic’s greatest ever player, Jimmy Johnstone. The interview, conducted by his former team-mate and lifelong friend Jim Craig, covers Jinky’s extraordinary Celtic career, and the man from Viewpark recalls the highs and lows of his Celtic Park days.Today, March 13, 2026 marks 20 years since the passing of Jinky, whose genius in the Hoops enshrined his legacy as not only Celtic’s greatest ever player, but also one of the finest wingers ever to cross the white line. His individual skill made him a truly unique player, and after the arrival of Jock Stein in 1965, those skills were harnessed for the good of the team and would prove to be pivotal to the success which was to follow. Like all of Celtic’s legendary European Cup winning squad, the highlight of Jimmy Johnstone’s career came in the heat of Lisbon on May 25, 1967 when the Hoops defied the odds and demolished Inter Milan to lift football’s greatest prize. Naturally, Jinky’s memories of that glorious day under the Lisbon sun are sure to put a smile on the face of every Celtic supporter, and his recollections of his fourteen years in the Hoops are humorous, honest and fascinating.  PODCAST DOWNLOAD & LISTEN Listen on the go on your phone or tablet using the links below: 🎧 Click here to get the podcast on your favourite platform 🎧 Apple Podcasts 🎧 Spotify 🎧 Podbean Make sure you like and subscribe to the Official Celtic FC Podcast wherever you get your podcasts so you never miss an episode, and keep in touch on our social media @CelticFC or by email at [email protected] to get your questions in for future episodes.
