Here we take the opportunity to revisit some Celtic games and tales from this day in the club’s past. 1888 Celtic met Clyde officially for the first time on this day in 1888 in the Scottish Cup and the high-scoring Bhoys were in no mood to let up against their near neighbours. Already having disposed of Shettleston (5-1), Cowlairs (8-0), Albion Rovers (4-1) and St Bernard’s (4-1), Celtic went into the match with goals in mind and they went on to take part in their highest-scoring game yet...
