There’s a great moment in The West Wing, one that comes in Season 4. Toby Ziegler, the White House deputy communications director, has been trying to convince the president to have just one debate with his rival, Rob Ritchie, instead of three. He sells it by arguing that it shouldn’t be like any other debate.
