Saoirse Noonan: We need to learn and stick with it going into Hibs game

Having already made 41 appearances in green and white, Saoirse Noonan is well accustomed to life as a Celtic player, despite still being in her first season with the Hoops. And with her opening campaign set to come to a close, although it has been a strong one from a personal point of view with 29 goals to her name, it has been a disappointing ending to another historic season. With just two games remaining, the Ghirls travel to Edinburgh on Wednesday evening as they play out the penultimate game of the campaign. Speaking to the press ahead of that trip to Meadowbank, Noonan reflected on what has been a difficult second half of the season. Th forward stressed the importance of learning and sticking with it though, as they aim to make a strong finish to the season in their final two games. She said: “Obviously my first season being at the club, I’ve loved having so many games. I suppose in the past I haven’t had as many games. “Being involved has been brilliant. But I think this last half of the season has been extremely difficult. “There have been days where we have to come in and try to pick ourselves up off the floor fairly fast. “We understand the frustration because we are too. Of course, we want to go out and win games and make things right. “The games have been coming at us thick and fast. So, it’s been tough. ‘But it’s about learning and sticking with it. We don’t throw in the towel; I think that is what is most important for us right now.’ “We have a good dressing room, and a lot of different characters and it’s just unfortunate we haven’t got the best out of everyone at times,” Noonan continued. “But I think it is a growing phase, and we do have to learn. We can use all the excuses we want, but at the end day we play for a big club. ‘We have to show up and I think it’s about making sure we do that, and we are all on the same page now.’ “We want to finish off this season strong and build ourselves up going into next season.”FixturesHibernian Women Vs.
