It has been a strong start to 2026 for Celtic FC Women, who have kicked off the year with two wins to start the Grant Scott era. And the Ghirls will be looking to continue that impressive start, with more fixtures to come over the next few weeks. One of those fixtures includes the chance to reach a final, with the Sky Sports Cup semi-final clash against Rangers on the horizon. On Tuesday afternoon, Saoirse Noonan was at Hampden Park to look ahead to that semi-final match up at the beginning of February. The striker insisted it is an exciting prospect to be chasing all three trophies as we head into the business end of the season. Ultimately, the goal for Noonan and her team-mates is to take home that silverware, starting with the Sky Sports Cup as they gear up for their last-four match with Rangers. She said: “It’s massive to still be chasing on all fronts in terms of trophies. It gives you that bit more excitement and you really want to be in that final. “We obviously have a big game in front of us at the beginning of next month. But we will all be ready to go. ‘It’s the opportunity to reach a cup final early on. That is what you want. The opportunity to win trophies.’ “I think if we could do that, going into the split it would definitely build confidence. We’ve had a good run of games, winning in our last six. “That was against some big teams, in big games. We just need to keep that momentum going. “The cup competitions are always huge. We are a big club, and we want to win silverware, and that’s what we’re here to do. “No one wants to leave any stones unturned this year. We are really determined to bring something back for the fans as well.”Of course, before heading into semi-final action, there is another league outing for the Hoops as they return home on Sunday. The Ghirls take on Montrose at New Douglas Park this weekend in their first home outing of 2026, which will also be Grant Scott’s first opportunity to take to the Celtic dugout at home. Ahead of getting back in front of a home crowd on Sunday, Noonan insisted that the entire squad are looking forward to be back with the fans as she looks ahead to another busy few weeks. “Right now, we are coming into that stage where every game is nearly a cup final and as important as the next,” she said. “You can’t let things drop in any game, and they are all so, so important. “We are just taking it week by week and trying to keep that momentum that we are building going. “There have been small changes made by Grant, but nothing drastic. It’s the same dressing room, the same bunch of girls and the same goals. “We are in all three competitions as well, so we just want to keep going and put our best foot forward. ‘We’ve had a good start to the year, so we need to keep that going.’ “It’ll be nice to be back at home on Sunday. We’ve heard the fans, I think they’ve never been louder this year – I don’t know what has happened over Christmas! “But it’s been really, really nice. Going back home, we need to get that win again and then it will be a great boost for us going into the semi-final.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs. Montrose Women – Sun, Jan 25th 2026, 13:10Rangers Women Vs.
