This Friday marks a return to league action for Celtic FC Women, but also the second Glasgow derby of the campaign. The Ghirls make the short trip across the city to Ibrox as they face off against Rangers on tomorrow evening. It is set to be an exciting evening of football, with the Celts eyeing up all three points on their travel. Speaking to the media to preview the Hoops’ away trip, striker Saoirse Noonan reflected on the mood within the camp this week. Having come off the back of a 9-1 win over Queen’s Park last Sunday, the striker believes that will bring confidence to the group, but the focus remains on themselves and the task at hand. She said: “I wouldn’t say we needed it, but it always helps to have a result like last week. Creating that many chances in a game and scoring that amount of goals always boosts your confidence.” “I think for any footballer, your life revolves around football every single day. ‘So, obviously, you’re training week-in-week-out to make sure you win each game.’ “If you lose, you are going to take it personal and hard. So, it was great to get a good win under our belt at the weekend and take that into this game. “But every week is the same for us anyway. We try not to change too much; we just try to focus on ourselves and that is a big one for this week.”Having already experienced the Glasgow derby on a number of occasions as a Celtic player, Noonan will be looking to try and help lead the Ghirls to victory at Ibrox. The Ireland internationalist has no doubt it will be a tough game, but it is one everyone wants to be involved in, and she insists the squad are more than capable of coming away with three points. Noonan also insists that there has been a buzz of excitement around Barrowfield in the lead up as they get set for action on Friday night. “It’s a Celtic and Rangers game. It’s always going to be tough, and there is two top teams,” she said. “Of course, it’s tough but at the same time, every game is. “It’s a game that everyone wants to watch and everyone wants to be involved in. They are a good side, but so are we. ‘So, I think it’s whoever wants it more at the end of the day who is going to come out on top.’ “It’s a huge game. Teams in the top five/six positions have been taking points off each other this season and last. “It always comes down to the end. It’s important for us as a group to make sure we put in a good performance, and try come away with the three points. “There’s been a brilliant buzz ahead of Friday. Obviously, there can be nerves and stuff maybe with some. “But the buzz going into it has been brilliant and really positive. We’re just really excited for the game to come now and we’re looking forward to it.”FixturesRangers Women Vs. Celtic Women – Fri, Nov 14th 2025, 19:30
