Sunday afternoon marked an important three points for Celtic FC Women, who were made to work by Partick Thistle at Petershill Park. After being pegged back level late on in the match, a stoppage time winner from Kelly Clark sealed a 3-2 win for the Ghirls on a tricky afternoon. Over and above the delight at winning the game, there was also another reason to celebrate with the return of Shannon McGregor to the squad. The midfielder’s last appearance came during last season’s split, and she has spent time out through injury. However, Sunday afternoon’s win marked her first appearance of the campaign and a return to action, and she was delighted to be back on the pitch. Speaking after the game, she said: “It was amazing to be involved in that and be back. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt that feeling! “It was a pressure game to come on to, but it was really good to get back playing again. “It was just so special to be back on the pitch. I’ve worked so hard. “It’s been nearly a year now I think, so it meant a lot today and I’m just happy to be back playing and part of the squad.“Of course, it makes it all worth the hard work you put in. I think you kind of forget how much hard work you have put in. “But it definitely makes it all worth it. I’m just so happy, and hopefully, I can start to kick on from now. “Everyone has been amazing. All my team-mates, coaching staff and we heard the fans today. It was great to have that support.”FixturesPartick Thistle Women Vs. Celtic Women – Sun, Mar 22nd 2026, 13:00
