Celtic FC Women rounded off another busy week by getting back on track in the league, sealing all three points on Sunday afternoon against Spartans. Securing the win with a first-half strike from Morgan Cross, it was a narrower scoreline than the Hoops would have been hoping at New Douglas Park. Despite their dominance throughout, the Ghirls just couldn’t add to the scoring following the striker’s ninth minute opener. Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, midfielder Shannon McGregor admitted that is was ultimately important to make sure all three points were secured. However, reflecting upon the performance, the summer signing admitted that the display could have been better. She said: “It was important that we got the three points today. However, the performance wasn’t good enough overall, and we all know that. “Of course, it’s important to get three points today too though. We want to win the league and be up there. ‘So, we need to be winning these games, and that is the most important thing.’ “However, for our pride and for our style of play, we should be doing better than we did today.”Playing out their third game of the week on Sunday, the Ghirls rounded off what has been a hectic few weeks with a win. McGregor admitted that winning in the league is always important as the Hoops got back to winning ways at the weekend. That result now also takes us into the first international break of the campaign, and it is one the Celtic midfielder is now looking forward too after earning her first call-up at senior level for Scotland. “Everyone knows how busy our schedule is at the moment, and we need to enjoy every second,” she said. “But, like I have said, when we come home to Scotland, the league is very important for us, and we need to focus on that when we get back to league action.” “I can’t wait now for international duty,” McGregor continued. “It’s a great opportunity for myself, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do as a young girl. “So, I’m really looking forward to that over the coming week.”FixturesCeltic Women Vs.
