It has been a positive start to the season for Celtic’s B team, with five wins from their opening six games and still currently unbeaten. Ahead of their match this weekend in the Lowland League, Stephen McManus caught up with Celtic TV to provide an update on how the squad have performed so far. “The boys have bought in to everything we’ve been speaking about,” he said. “It’s been no different to the last two or three years to be perfectly honest. “It’s the same message, the same principles and everything is linked to what the first team is trying to do as well. ‘The boys have been very good and the performances have been positive which is the most important thing.’ “When the performances are positive, a lot of times the results follow. “But for us, the most important thing at this stage in their development is their performances.“McManus’ side face Civil Service Strollers away from home this weekend, and ahead of that match, the B team boss says that he expects a tough challenge. “The away games are really difficult no matter who the opposition is,” he said. “The Lowland League teams are very organised. “The pitch will be a bit tighter, Civil Service will try and play but they’ll also mix their game up. They’ve got a variety in how they’ll look to play. “Our boys will need to get used to that, get used to playing against men, get used to defending against direct balls and winning second balls. “There’s different challenges week to week but the boys relish that and they always enjoy it.“To watch Stephen McManus’ full interview, follow the link below.
