After the wonderful success of our inaugural event, Celtic FC Foundation are delighted to announce that we will once again be working in partnership with the Billy McNeill Commemoration Charity and honouring a true Celtic great – with the return of our ‘In the Footsteps of Cesar’ event. The inaugural event in 2023 saw supporters come together and walk to the then newly erected statue of Billy McNeill in his hometown of Bellshill on a wonderful sunny day in May, with funds raised split equally between the two charities. This year’s event will take place on the morning of bank holiday Monday, May 5, 2025 and supporters will go in the opposite direction, as they take on a 10-mile sponsored walk from the statue in Bellshill, to the statue of Cesar at the bottom of The Celtic Way. Celtic FC Foundation are proud to be partnering with the Billy McNeill Commemoration Charity once again for this fantastic fundraising initiative, as we invite supporters to follow ‘In the Footsteps of Cesar’. The minimum age to participate is 10 years-old (as of the event date) and participants aged 10-15 must have written consent to participate and be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian/responsible adult, who must also take part in the event. Registration is now open and the cost to enter is £20 for those aged 16 and over, or £15 for those aged 10-15. You can register to take part HERE. In addition to a fundraising pack, participants will also receive an official ‘In the Footsteps of Cesar’ t-shirt on the day, as well as snacks/refreshments during the event. All we ask is that you raise a minimum fundraising target (£135 for those aged 16 and over and £35 for those aged 10-15) to take part. Proceeds will once again be shared equally between Celtic FC Foundation and the Billy McNeill Commemoration Charity. Thank you for your wonderful support.
