Celtic boss, Martin O’Neill has been named as the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month for April after guiding the Hoops through the month unbeaten. The Celts recorded vital April wins in the SPFL over Dundee and St Mirren before the split, and Falkirk in the first post-split league meeting as well as throwing in a Scottish Cup semi-final win over the Saints for good measure. The Irishman said: “Even at 74 years of age, it’s still actually nice to get it. “But this is for work by the players and the coaches, and I have seriously played a little part in the proceedings – but not as much as I should be in getting this award.” After a reverse at Tannadice in late March before the most recent international break, Martin O’Neill’s side came roaring back at a pivotal juncture in the season. He said: “Coming back from the international break and we had just lost at Tannadice against Dundee United, then you just have to win the games coming back. ‘So reset, or mindset or whatever it was, we got the late goal at Dundee, and we’ve gone on from then.’ “It’s great, it’s just nice to still be in the hunt at this stage. “At this minute we are on a decent run, we’re getting results at this moment, and the team are just gelling.” Not only have the team roared back, but the support have been out in vocal force as well – before, during and after the games. Speaking about the first game after the split, last weekend’s 3-1 win over Falkirk, the manager said: “Even the welcome we got when the bus pulled in an hour before kick-off, that was terrific. That’s not been around for some time. “But the support we got was magnificent, absolutely magnificent and they stayed with us as well, too. “There were moments when we were a bit cranky and they could have got a bit upset with things, but they stayed with us. “We played strongly in many aspects, there are lots of things we can still improve on, but it was great. “It was lovely to get that feeling at Celtic Park. It took me back years, and years and years.” —- 🍀Subscribe today to the official YouTube of the world’s first Quadruple Treble winners, Celtic Football Club:
