ScottishPower Women’s Premier LeagueFriday, April 24 2026Meadowbank Stadium HIBERNIAN…1 (Adams 53) CELTIC…0 Celtic FC Women suffered defeat in the capital on Friday evening, losing out 1-0 against Hibernian. Elidh Adams spot kick at the beginning of the half was enough to separate the two sides, with the home side taking away all three points. Heading into the game, Grant Scott named three changes to his side, with Maddi Wilde, Chloe Craig, Shannon McGregor coming into the side. Notably for both Craig and McGregor, it was first starts of the campaign for the duo, who have recently returned from injury. With the Hoops in action for the first time in 18 days, it took themselves and Hibs some time to settle into the action. Initially, the home side had started the better of the two with some possession, but not much in the way of testing Adelaide Gay. On a few occasions in the first half the Celtic shot-stopper was on hand to collect crosses into the box, whilst also denying Kathleen McGovern. As the first half grew on, so did Celtic in confidence, beginning to create a few openings in the half. The first fell the way of Saoirse Noonan, who hooked an effort from a cross on target, only to be denied by the Hibs goalkeeper. Moments later, it was the turn of Morgan Cross, who found herself through one-on-one with the goalkeeper after finding a ball in behind. As she advanced, the winger looked to dink the keeper, but it was met with a save and her effort going out for a corner. The Celts also had a few other opportunities, with both Lisa Robertson and Evie Rabjohn trying their luck from range. Noonan was also unfortunate with another strike, meeting Amy Gallacher’s free kick delivery into the box, but she couldn’t hit the target. Going into the second half, things didn’t get off to the best of starts for the Ghirls, with Celtic conceding an early spot kick. Kelly Clark was judged to have brought Rosie Livingstone down inside the area, with the referee quickly pointing to the spot. Up stepped Elidh Adams, who powered her penalty down the middle, giving Adelaide Gay no chance. The home side looked to try and take initiative from their opener, but it was almost Celtic with an instant response. Winning the ball back high up the pitch, Saoirse Noonan drove towards goal, hitting an effort from a tight angle, but it was well saved once more. Hibs looked to try and extend their advantage, delivering a number of crosses into the box, which were well claimed by Adelaide Gay. The Celtic shot-stopper also produced a magnificent save to deny Adams her second, tipping a powerful strike onto the post. As the game entered it’s closing stages, Celtic had their best chance in the final few moments. Chloe Craig picked up the second ball from a corner, powering an effort on goal, which was tipped over the crossbar. That was the final action of the game, with the Ghirls losing out 1-0 at Meadowbank. They will look to dust themselves off, with another game quickly on the horizon as they take on Glasgow City in midweek.FixturesHibernian Women Vs. Celtic Women – Fri, Apr 24th 2026, 19:00
