Must-win for Rangers AND Celtic and trouble in Tayside | The Warm-Up

Another derby day is looming in the Scottish Premiership as the SPFL brings in the New Year with a double header of big matches. Chris Sutton, Steven Naismith and Kris Boyd look forward to the early kick off at Celtic Park on Saturday January 3, where Wilfried Nancy make his Old Firm derby debut amidst a turbulent start to his managerial tenure. Nancy has two wins from his first seven games in charge going into this derby game and defeat would only amplify the pressure with his side trailing in the title race to Hearts. However, a win would give some respite as the January transfer window opens. The Warm-Up team also look at Rohl’s Rangers and they are developing under their new manager and how his side are likely to play, given their limitations in attack and Celtic’s defensive frailties. Previewing the forthcoming transfer window they also discuss why it is just as vital for Rohl – and for Hearts, who will strengthen, but now have a bloated squad. Saturday’s 3pm kick off on Tayside is also firmly in the spotlight as Boyd, Sutton and Naismith focus on ‘the impossible job’ being done by Steven Pressley at Dens Park. Is the Dundee manager too negative – or just honest? What does success look like as his team continue to play in fits and starts? And which Jim Goodwin side will show up at Tannadice on Saturday? His United are also producing stand out performances amidst the inconsistencies.
